Interfaith symposium held on topic: “The Family in Christian and Muslim tradition”

Department of Islamic Sciences part of University College “Bedwr”, in cooperation with Orthodox Theological Academy in Durrws, and with Catholic Institute  in Shkodra organized the next interfaith symposium on thesis: “Family in Christian and Muslim tradition”.

Family as a basic element on society progress, relevant interfaith perspectives on family context, or different issues which talk about essential topics of todays family, as we can mention: childrens education, respect toword parents, continuelsy communication between family members, family care etc, were some of the several topics wich the activity was based.

The guests panel which was moderated from the Head of Islamic Sciences Department in Bedwr, Dr. Genti Kruja, included Atë Mario Imperatori, Director of Catholic Institute in Shkodra, Mr. Thoma Çomëni, Professor in Orthodox Theological Academy in Durrws, and Mr. Elton Karaj, Proffesor in the Islamic Sciences Department in Bedwr.

Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana, Rector of University College Bedwr, after thanking relevent academic staff and students from the three theological schools for participating in this activity, in his greeting words he highlighted the importance of this kind of activities not only in education of new generations in family and society contexts, but also in further interfaith cooperations between institutions in our country.

Atë Mario Imperatori, talked about dangerous elements and other reasons which cause the disored of nowdays family and society.

“Taday’s society is weak, focused on individualism and economic fundamentalism, concept’s which risk the stability of nowdays family”- he said.

After that, Mr. Thoma Çomëni, discussed about standard family in which every member is equal, deserve’s to be respected, also to take care and assure progress, communication and love between other members of the family.

“Children’s are the frame of the family, family if the frame of the society, so the children’s future is difficult mission which requires rigorosity in it’s fulfillment.”- he said.

The symposium ended with Mr. Elton Karaj’s speech. Firstly he greeted the cooperation initiative between the interfaith institution’s in our country, especially their director’s for showing a great vision in this aspect. He’s speech was focused on the prophetic example’s of the family, concretely in the mutual respect between parent’s and their children’s, family care, spiritual and material aspect of life, religion education of children’s as a basic column for a healthy family for the society.

In the and, the participating student’s from the 3 institution’s, gave the symposium an interactiv form by asking a lot of different questions.
