The Electoral Reform discussed among Oerd Bylykbashi and the students

The Co-chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reform, Mr. Oerd Bylykbashi, attended a dialogue regarding the Electoral Reform with the students of Law Department.

Firstly, being invited by the Student Club “Bedër Law Academy”, Mr. Bylykbashi made a general technical analyzes of different electoral systems mentioning their pros and cons in the doctrinal terms and in the practical aspect as well. In this aspect he addressed some specific cases so that the students would be clarified about the impact of the implementation of respective electoral systems on the political context of our country.

“In my opinion, the electoral reform in Albania is more important than the reform in justice considering the political situation in which we find ourselves” said Mr. Bylykbashi during the presentation of the current performance of this reform.

He said that there is needed a strong will from all the political parties so that to achieve an effective reform and thus avoid the problems associated with electoral processes during the transition period.

Among others, Mr. Bylykbashi introduced the challenges and problems encountered in his work as the co-chairman of the parliamentary committee on electoral reform. The event went on with the questions of students to whose the mentioning of the corruption issue that has greatly influenced the election process did not escape.
