Third international conference on humanities: "Socio-Economic Dimensions in Peace building" held

Hëna e Plotë (Bedër) University, in collaboration with the University of Vienna and IPEK University in Turkey, hosted the 3rd International Conference on Humanities in the theme: "Socio- economic dimensions in peace building". The conference brought together academics and researchers from nine countries, who referred topics related to peace building, regarding to the issue of social and economic dimensions.

In his welcoming speech, Prof.Dr. Ayhan Tekineş, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Hëna e Plotë (Bedër) University, also chairman of the conference after welcoming the speakers and participants raised the importance of treating such topics in terms of a world conflict. He made an overview on the history of conference, mentioning the topics covered in the past two years.

Rector of Hëna e Plotë (Bedër) University, Dr. Ferdinand Gjana stressed the fact that the involvement of researchers in academic and scientific discussions about topics that contribute to conflict resolution and peace building is an important element for societies of these days.

The opening ceremony was attended by university academics, MPs and other guests. The conference was welcomed by Mr.Genc Pollo, Chairman of the Committee on Education and Public Information Media and z . Pandeli Majko, former prime minister, Socialist Party deputy.

In his welcoming speech, Mr.Genc Pollo stressed the importance of the university 's commitment not only in teaching but also in research, as this conference shows. Mr. Pollo focused on the importance of the conference topics saying that "Peacekeeping  is a very important topic for the 21st century, in order to build some principles and some methods, so for societies to live in harmony, stability and social justice".

While Mr.Pandeli Majko, after giving a summary of Albania's international relations, in a  historical context, stressed that the Albanian society has entered this new century with a single reflection, meaning harmony and peace. "This reflection is inevitable, given the development of relations between Albanians who had not only among themselves but also with Balkan neighbors" - he said.

In the conference referred as keynote speaker the member of the Albanian Academy of Sciences Prof.Dr.Artan Fuga and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at "Suleyman Şah" University in Turkey, Prof.Dr.Adnan Aslan.

Academician Artan Fuga referred the topic: "Media ethnographic and cultural diversity, as an instrument of peace". He said that "building relations based on peace and understanding between peoples and nations is a complex and difficult proces. If you look carefully the situation in these last decades, the reality shows that even in terms of political freedoms for citizens and nations of ethnicities within a society and a state, as well as inter-state relations, there exist opportunities and risks that create ethnic tension and shape preconditions for political instability and fluctuations peaceful processes of democratization". Professor Fuga focused on models of communication in a multicultural and multiethnic society, by making a classification of them.

While Prof.Dr.Adnan Aslan referred the topic: "Religion and love in "Rumi" philosophy''.

Conference continued in 2 days, in different sessions, with the works presented by participants.
